The price of curtains in four facts

1. A full estimate has five components, each priced per metre: fabric €9.50–43, making €8–18, track or pole from €9, hanging €4–5.50 and fitting €9–15. 2. Three levels for a 200 × 260 cm window. Economy (Voile + Wave, on a ceiling track or a wall pole) about €165–250; Mid-range (Crepe + pinch pleat + a wall pole) about €360; Top range (Heritage or Bukle + S-fold + a recessed ceiling track) about €380–400. 3. The fabric needed is the track length multiplied by the fullness of the heading, so it comes to 1.5–2.5 times the track length. 4. A wide roll (320–335 cm) saves fabric: it avoids turning the fabric to run in widths, which adds 30–80% to the fabric.

What are the five components of the price?

Every curtain project has five service components. This is how the prices differ between the Economy, Mid-range and Top range levels.

Hanging€4/m€4/m€4–5.50/m€5.50/m for curtains taller than 300 cm
Fitting€9/m€12/m€15/mTall windows, complicated ceilings

Fabric needed: track length × fullness (1.5–2.5×).

What do curtains cost room by room (a full estimate)?

Typical full estimates by window size and level. The sums include fabric, making, a ceiling track (20–25 cm wider than the window on each side), hanging and fitting. The top-range price depends on the model of recessed track, so it is worked out for each project.

Measuring is free in Vilnius, and in Kaunas and Klaipėda on orders of €200 or more. For the exact price for your window, use the calculator.

A worked example: where the money goes for a living room

A standard 200 × 260 cm living room window, Mid-range level (Crepe + pinch pleat at 2.5× + a wall pole):

Fabric: Crepe €15/m × 6.55 m (2.5× fullness plus 0.30 m for the side hems) = €98

Making (pinch pleat): €15/m × 6.55 m = €98

Pole: a 2.5 m round wall pole with brackets and end caps €99

Tape and hanging (€5/m × 6.55 m): €33

Fitting (€12/m × 2.5 m): €30

The full estimate is about €358. The fabric is about 27% of that sum, making, hanging and fitting about 45%, and the pole about 28%.

What does the price depend on?

The three main factors that decide the final price of curtains

The choice of fabric

Sheer fabrics cost from €9.50 per metre (Voile) to €16.50 (Nobel); blackout and dim-out fabrics from €11 to €43 per metre. The curtains are made to the measurements of your windows.

The size of the window

Width × height = the amount of fabric. Large windows need more material and stronger tracks.

How complicated the making is

A lining, pleats, fittings and a motor each add to the cost.

Questions

How much do made-to-measure curtains cost?

It depends on the fabric, the size of the window and how complicated the making is. Sheer fabric costs from €9.50 per metre (Voile) to €16.50 (Nobel), and lined blackout from €11 to €43 per metre. Making is €8–13 per metre and hanging €4 per metre. The exact price follows a consultation, or comes from the calculator.

Are measuring and fitting included in the price?

Measuring and fitting are additional services. Measuring is free in Vilnius. In Kaunas and Klaipėda it is free on orders of €200 or more. Elsewhere in Lithuania the visit is paid, and the price is agreed beforehand. The price of fitting depends on the number of windows and how complicated they are.

Is the price different for a larger order?

For larger projects (five or more windows, or from €1,000) the price is agreed for each project: the quote shows every line, so fabric and mechanism options can be compared.

How much do tracks cost?

Ceiling tracks start at €9 per metre and wall poles at €14 per metre, both before fitting. Electric tracks cost from €170 per metre, fitted and programmed. The exact price depends on the width of the window and the mechanism.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

Yes, when you order from a quote with measuring and fitting: 50% is paid against a proforma invoice when the order is confirmed, and the other 50% after the work is done. Goods bought online are paid in full at once, by e-banking or bank transfer.

How long is a quote valid?

The quote itself states how long it is valid. Fabric prices change with the suppliers' prices, so it pays not to wait.

How does the curtain price calculator work?

The calculator gives a rough price in two minutes from the size of the window and the type of fabric. Enter the width and the height of the window and choose a fabric category. The result is not an exact quote, but a clear guide before a consultation.

How much do day and night roman blinds cost?

More than a single roman blind, because two separate fabrics work on one mechanism: making a day and night roman blind costs €64 per m², a single-layer one €32 per m², and both fabrics are added to that. The exact price is worked out from the size of the window and the fabrics chosen.
