Curtain track fitting cost: real guide prices and what affects the budget most

  • Fitting is priced per metre of track: a ceiling track from €9 per metre, a wall-fixed pole from €12 per metre and an electric track from €15 per metre.
  • A double track means two tracks, so the metres are counted twice; an electric track adds €20 for programming the motor (not counting the work to bring in the power).
  • High ceilings, plasterboard without a profile behind it, a recess and a long profile raise the price; several windows in one visit lower it.
  • The exact sum is given after measuring, or from a few photographs of the window.

Fitting a track is priced per metre: a ceiling track from €9 per metre, a wall-fixed pole from €12 per metre and an electric track from €15 per metre. The final price depends on the type of track, its length, the number of windows, what the track is fixed to and how much preparation the property needs. This page gives guide prices and shows when to plan the budget beyond the metres.

What does the base fitting price cover?

A standard fitting price normally covers marking out, drilling, fixing, levelling the brackets or the track, and a basic check after the work. The price pays for a track that is fixed straight, carries the load and needs no correction in the first weeks.

Only the work that goes beyond the standard job is assessed separately: a difficult base, high ceilings, awkward access, a recess, a longer profile than usual, or starting up an electric track. That is why "one window" costs different amounts in different properties.

Guide prices by type of fitting

Fitting rates per metre of track, the same ones the track price calculator uses. A longer track has a higher rate per metre. For example, fitting a 2.5 m ceiling track costs €22.50, and a 4 m one €60; a 2 m wall-fixed pole costs €24. A track in a ceiling recess is fitted at the ceiling-track rate; extra work is charged separately and agreed beforehand.

These figures are a good start for planning a budget, but they do not replace an assessment of the property. If you do not know whether you have plasterboard, a recess, a hidden profile or whether extra brackets will be needed, the most accurate way is to begin with an e-mail and a few photographs.

Track fitting prices per metre
TrackPriceWhen it applies
Ceiling track€9/mA track up to 3 m, also in a ceiling recess
Ceiling track€10/mA track up to 3.5 m
Ceiling track€15/mLonger than 3.5 m

Electric track€15/mA track up to 3 m; programming €20, not counting the power supply

A double track (for a sheer and a lined curtain) means two tracks are fitted. The prices are final. Measuring is free in Vilnius. In Kaunas and Klaipėda it is free on orders of €200 or more. Elsewhere in Lithuania the visit is paid, and the price is agreed beforehand.

Where does the price of fitting rise most?

One standard window: a short visit, simple fixing, a single track. This is usually the cheapest case, if the base is clear and no extra adjustment is needed. A double track for a sheer and a lined curtain: two tracks, more brackets, more exact levelling; the fitting metres are counted twice, and the finer adjustment takes time too. An electric track: the position of the motor, the power supply, the extra start-up and set-up. Find out beforehand whether a power point is ready. A recess, a high ceiling or a difficult base: more preparation, more time, harder access. In these cases measuring does the most to protect you from a surprise price.

Working time and risk usually cause bigger differences than the track itself. Work at height, a non-standard fixing or a motor to connect takes longer and carries more risk, and that shows in the price.

When does professional fitting pay for itself?

If the track is long, double, electric or in a recess, professional fitting almost always pays for itself compared with saving an evening's work. Even a small unevenness in a track shows at once in the way the curtain hangs, and correcting it often costs more than a tidy job the first time.

It matters most when the curtains are heavy, when an exact blackout closure is needed, or when the room is finished and you do not want extra holes in the wall.

How can I lower the price without losing quality?

Save through preparation, not a weaker fixing. When the number of windows, the approximate dimensions and the type of track are known beforehand, a single visit can be planned, extra adjustment avoided, and the time on site set more accurately.

Plan several windows at once, too. The price of one small job always looks relatively higher, because it includes the journey and the preparation. When several windows are fitted together, the logistics are shared and the final price per window is usually better.

How do I compare quotes from different shops?

When you compare quotes, see whether the price already includes measuring, the visit, adjusting the brackets, extra fixing work and a warranty after fitting. One supplier can show a lower base price and then add work that elsewhere is already part of the standard package.

So compare the final price for your window, your town and the track you chose, not the line that says "from". That shows which quote is better and which simply says less at first glance.

What should I send so that the quote is exact from the first contact?

To get an exact quote at the first contact, send: the town and the type of property; how many windows are being fitted and what kind of track is planned; at least approximate width and height; and one or two photographs, especially if there is a recess, plasterboard or an unusual position. Questions about the cost of fitting a track

How much does it cost to fit a single track?

Fitting is priced per metre of track: a single ceiling track costs €9 per metre up to 3 m, and a wall-fixed pole €12 per metre. So fitting a 2.5 m ceiling track costs €22.50; a double track means two tracks are fitted.

When does the cost of fitting rise most?

When the base is non-standard, the ceiling is high, the spans are long, there are recesses, extra cable work or several tracks fitted at once.

Does the price include adjusting the brackets?

In a standard job, yes: tidy adjustment is part of a proper fitting. Only extra work that turns up on site is charged separately.

Does the price differ in Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda?

The fitting rate per metre is the same everywhere. The visit differs: measuring is free in Vilnius, and in Kaunas and Klaipėda on orders of €200 or more; in other towns the visit is charged, and we agree the price beforehand.

Should the measuring be done first?

Yes. Exact measuring avoids recalculating on site and lowers the risk of paying for extra corrections or a second visit.

When does fitting an electric track cost more?

When a power supply is needed, the cable has to be hidden, or the control has to be joined to a smart-home system. The fixing itself is usually more complex and takes longer.

Can the price be worked out roughly by e-mail?

Yes, if you know the number of windows, the type of track, the town and at least the approximate dimensions. The final sum is still confirmed after the property has been assessed.

How can I lower the cost of fitting without losing quality?

Plan several windows at once, agree the fixing position beforehand and make sure the property is accessible. That shortens the work on site and avoids repeat visits.

How do I compare fitting prices from different shops?

Compare what each line includes, and not only the line itself: measuring, the visit, adjusting the brackets, extra fixing work, the electrical part and the warranty. The cheapest quote often leaves out what the project will need anyway.

Which tracks are the most economical for large windows?

Aluminium ceiling tracks are often the most economical for large windows, because they spread the load evenly and need fewer decorative parts than wall poles. The final saving still depends on the weight of the fabric and the base it is fixed to.

How do curtain track prices in different shops in Lithuania compare?

Look beyond the price of one metre to the bracket set, the measuring service, the visit, the fitting and the warranty. Shops can show a similar base price, but the final sum changes sharply once all the real work is included.
