Wooden blinds: how slat width and material affect the price
The price of wooden blinds depends mostly on the slat width and the material. 25 mm slats (from €56 per m²) are the most compact and the cheapest, while 65 mm slats (from €85 per m²) suit large windows. A bamboo version costs about €70 per m², and PVC from €48 per m².
Slat width also sets how large a window the maker's warranty covers: the wider the slats, the larger the window, up to 5.5 m² for the 50–65 mm versions.
How do I measure a window for blinds?
- • Width: measure the inner width of the window in millimetres (for example 1200 mm).
- • Height: measure from the top edge to the sill in millimetres.
- • Roof windows: pleated blinds need the exact dimensions of the sloping window.
- • Tip: after the calculator, arrange measuring: the designer measures everything exactly on site. Measuring is free in Vilnius. In Kaunas and Klaipėda it is free on orders of €200 or more. Elsewhere in Lithuania the visit is paid, and the price is agreed beforehand.
Questions about blind prices
How much do wooden blinds cost for a standard window?
About €145 for a standard window (120 × 150 cm, 1.8 m²) in 50 mm basswood: about €130 for the blind and €15 for fitting. The 25 mm version is cheaper, from €100, and faux wood (PVC) costs from €113.
How do wooden blind prices differ by slat width?
The wider the slat, the higher the price. Per m², 25 mm slats cost from €56 (the most compact), 35 mm from €62 (the most versatile), 50 mm from €72 (also available motorised) and 65 mm from €85 (for formal rooms).
Can I order electric wooden blinds?
Yes, in the 50 mm and 65 mm versions. An electric motor (Brel, for example) adds about €40 and is worked by remote control or from a phone.
What is the warranty area for wooden blinds?
The largest blind area the warranty covers, which differs by version: up to 3.0 m² for 25 mm slats and up to 5.5 m² for 50 mm, for example. A larger blind still works, but its warranty is limited.
How do vertical blinds differ from wooden ones?
Vertical blinds (from €35 per m²) hang in vertical fabric louvres and are well suited to large windows and terrace doors. Wooden blinds have horizontal slats and look more decorative and warmer.
Do pleated blinds suit roof windows?
Yes. Pleated blinds are the usual blind for sloping and roof windows, and a top-down/bottom-up version lets the light in from the top, the bottom or both.
