Measuring and fitting windows at your home
The designer comes to your home in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda or any other Lithuanian town. Laser measures accurate to 1 mm are used, and uneven floors, radiators and the geometry of the window are allowed for. After measuring you receive a written quote. Measuring is free in Vilnius. In Kaunas and Klaipėda it is free on orders of €200 or more. Elsewhere in Lithuania the visit is paid, and the price is agreed beforehand.
What the measuring visit gives you
Accurate to 1 mm
Laser measures are used. Uneven floors, wall corners and radiators are taken into account.
Working since 2019
In that time we have completed 500+ projects.
A written quote
After measuring you receive a detailed quote with prices.
Warranty
12 months on sewing and tracks, 24 months on mechanisms and motors. We answer for the whole process, from measuring to fitting.
Unlike general instructions, the designer arrives with fabric samples, a catalogue of tracks and roller blind mechanisms. A consultation on the spot helps you picture the finished result and avoid costly mistakes.
How is the measuring done?
Enquiry
You get in touch through the form or by e-mail. We reply by e-mail and agree a time for the visit.
Visit
The designer arrives with samples and catalogues. You discuss your needs, the style and the budget.
Measuring
Each window is measured at three points (left, centre, right), and every detail and obstacle is noted.
Quote
You receive a detailed quote with the price broken down and, if needed, a visualisation.
Fitting
From order confirmation to installation, curtains, roman blinds and other blinds take 3–4 weeks, and tracks 1–2 weeks. Then comes the final check.
Measuring rules by product
Each type of product has its own measuring formula. These are the approximate rules we follow:
| Product | Width (multiplier) | Height adjustment | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sheer curtains | ×2.5 | −1 cm above the floor | 2.5 m window → width 625 cm |
| Lined (blackout) | ×2.0 | −2 cm (for heavy fabrics) | 2.5 m window → width 500 cm |
| Roman blinds | ×1.2 | ±1 cm at the glass | 2.5 m window → width 300 cm |
| Roller blinds | ×1.0 | +10 cm of clearance | The exact width of the frame |
| Eyelet curtains | ×1.7 | +3 cm for the heading band | 2.5 m window → width 425 cm |
* The exact multipliers depend on the fabric and the type of pleat. The exact figures are set at the measuring visit.
The most common measuring mistakes, and how they are avoided
Uneven floors
After a renovation the floors often stay uneven, so one measurement is not enough. The remedy: each window is measured at three points with a laser measure.
Heavy fabrics dropping
Linen and velvet "lengthen" by 5–10 cm over time. The remedy: the drop is allowed for in advance.
Curtains that are too narrow
The window looks smaller and there is not enough fullness for graceful folds. The remedy: the right fabric multipliers are applied.
Window handles ignored
The window handles get in the way of roller or roman blinds. The remedy: add 15 cm, or choose a suitable way of fitting.

Questions about measuring
Is measuring free?
Measuring is always free in Vilnius. In Kaunas and Klaipėda it is free once the order reaches €200. Elsewhere in Lithuania the visit is paid and is not deducted from the order total; the price is agreed beforehand.
How long does measuring take?
It depends on the number of windows and how complex they are: the windows of one room do not take long, a whole flat takes more time. Fabrics, colours and fitting options are discussed at the same visit, so the length is given when the time is agreed.
What if the track is not fitted yet?
That is no problem. You are advised which track would suit best, and it can be fitted together with the curtains. The type of ceiling, the wall material and the geometry of the window are taken into account.
Do you measure roof windows and sloping windows?
Yes, all types of window: standard, sloping, arched and roof windows. Sloping windows take roller or roman blinds with side guides.
What warranty covers the measuring and the fitting?
Our warranty covers sewing and tracks for 12 months, and mechanisms and motors, electric ones included, for 24 months. If something fails during that time because of the making or the fitting, the fault is put right free of charge. Our warranty does not limit your rights under Lithuanian law: the seller is liable for any lack of conformity that existed at delivery and becomes apparent within two years, and this applies to made-to-measure items and to fitting we carried out.
How can I pay?
An order placed on a quote is paid by bank transfer against a proforma invoice: a 50% advance when you confirm it, and the other 50% once the work is done. Goods bought online are paid at once by e-banking (MakeCommerce).
Do you only work in the big towns?
No, we work across Lithuania. Visits outside Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda are scheduled when a route comes together in the region, and the price of the visit is agreed beforehand.
