Roller blinds
Day and night blinds
Day and night blinds (zebra blinds) set the light and the privacy with one movement: a double fabric with alternating sheer and opaque bands.
Day and night blinds from €45 each

How do day and night blinds work?
A double fabric with horizontal sheer and opaque bands. When the sheer bands line up, light comes through. When the opaque bands cover them, the window is closed off for privacy.
Day mode: the sheer bands let light into the room. The room is bright, and the view outside is slightly filtered.
Night mode: the opaque bands close up and cover the window. Privacy is at its greatest, though a little light still shows round the edges.
What are the advantages?
Light control: change from full light to maximum privacy with one movement.
Privacy: with the bands closed, nothing can be seen from outside, while the room stays light.
Look: the stripes suit modern rooms and a minimal style.
Cassette or no cassette?
Choose the version that suits your needs and budget.
Cassette: a decorative cassette hides the mechanism and protects the fabric. It looks tidier and more finished. Advantages: a tidy look, protection from dust, a longer life.
No cassette (open): a compact, economical version. The mechanism stays visible, but the price is lower. Advantages: a lower price, a more compact size, easier fitting.
How are day and night blinds fitted?
There are several ways to fit them.
Inside the recess: the blind sits in the window recess. It is compact and does not stop the window from opening.
On the wall: fitted on the wall above the window, which makes the window look larger.
On the frame: fixed directly to the window frame without drilling, which suits a rented flat.
Can day and night blinds be electric?
Yes: automated blinds with a quiet motor. They can be operated by remote control or phone app, or joined to a smart-home system.
Advantages: a quiet motor, a timer function and smart-home integration.
Measuring and fitting
Day and night blinds are measured and fitted anywhere in Lithuania. Measuring is free in Vilnius. In Kaunas and Klaipėda it is free on orders of €200 or more. Elsewhere in Lithuania the visit is paid, and the price is agreed beforehand.
Questions
How do day and night blinds work?
A day and night blind has a double fabric with alternating sheer and opaque bands. As the blind is moved up or down, the bands line up or shift against each other, which sets the amount of light and the privacy with one movement.
How do cassette day and night blinds differ from ones without a cassette?
A cassette blind has a decorative cassette that hides the mechanism and protects the fabric from dust. The version without a cassette is cheaper and more compact, but the mechanism stays visible. The cassette blind looks tidier and stays clean for longer.
Are day and night blinds suitable for a bedroom?
Yes, but they do not block the light completely. For complete darkness in a bedroom we recommend blackout roller blinds, or a combination: day and night blinds with lined curtains.
How do I look after day and night blinds?
Remove dust regularly with a soft cloth or a vacuum cleaner with a soft attachment. Marks can be wiped with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. Avoid strong chemical cleaners, which can damage the fabric.
Can day and night blinds be automated?
Yes, electric day and night blinds with a quiet motor are available. They can be operated by remote control or phone app, or joined to a smart-home system.
How much do day and night blinds cost?
The price depends on the size of the window and the version chosen. As a guide: without a cassette €45–70 each, with a cassette €70–110 each, and electric versions from €150 each. The exact price is given after the consultation.
