About 35 mm wooden blinds

35 mm wooden blinds are the versatile option, with a choice of five materials: basswood, bamboo, abachi, brushed wood and PVC. This size balances looks and practicality, and is popular with clients who have private homes and offices.

They are made 270–3000 mm wide and 400–3400 mm high. The maximum area with the maker's warranty is 4.0 m² for basswood and bamboo, 4.4 m² for abachi and brushed wood, and 3.0 m² for PVC.

The 35 mm blinds stand out for their choice of non-invasive brackets: they can be fitted to the sashes of plastic windows without drilling, and to windows with a ventilation flap. The PVC version suits kitchens and damp rooms.

Which materials can I choose?

Five materials for different needs. Basswood is the classic choice, with the widest range of colours. Bamboo is natural and light, but sensitive to damp, so it is for dry rooms. Abachi is a light tropical wood with an even grain. Brushed is basswood with a matt, brushed-grain finish. PVC is fully resistant to damp, and the lightest and most economical option.

How are they operated?

Four operating configurations: controls on the left, controls on the right, tilt on the left + lift on the right, tilt on the right + lift on the left. The PVC version has the same options.

How are they fitted, and with which brackets?

Fitting methods: a universal (face/top fix) bracket; a ceiling (top fix) bracket; a non-invasive bracket (opening sashes only; colours: white, brown, grey, anthracite, black); a bracket made for windows with a ventilation flap (colours: white, black). Bottom fixing: clear plastic. Side fixing with a cable: free-hanging, flat, L-shaped or non-invasive.

Decorative tapes

Decorative tapes in three ranges: standard (17 colours), the 10 series (19 colours with a subtle pattern) and the 38 series (40+ colours with herringbone, wave and crepe patterns). In all, more than 75 combinations of colours and patterns. Note: an incompatible combination of tape and slat colours can stain the slats (for example, brown tapes on white slats).

How high is the stack of a raised blind?

The stack of a raised blind depends on the height of the blind. Allow for it when the blind is fixed to the wall above the window, so that once raised it does not cover the glass.

Important information about child safety

In some circumstances, infants and small children can become entangled in the control cords of window dressings, which creates a serious risk of strangulation. We recommend fixing the controls out of children's reach (no lower than 1500 mm from the floor) and using the cord safety device supplied with the blind. Check regularly that the cords are properly secured and do not form loops.

  • Damp rooms (PVC)

Questions

How do the materials of 35 mm blinds differ?

Basswood is the classic wood, with the widest range of colours, and is not resistant to damp. Bamboo is natural, sensitive to damp (for dry rooms), with a limited range of colours. Abachi is a light tropical wood with an even grain. Brushed is basswood with a matt brushed-wood finish. PVC is fully resistant to damp and the most economical, but is not suited to electric operation.

Do 35 mm blinds suit large windows?

Yes. They are made up to 3000 mm wide and 3400 mm high. The maximum area with the maker's warranty is 4.4 m² (abachi/brushed). For windows larger than this we recommend the 50 mm version.

Can they be fitted without drilling on a window with a ventilation flap?

Yes. The 35 mm blinds have a non-invasive bracket made for windows with a ventilation flap (white and black). The 25 mm and 65 mm versions do not have it.

How long does it take to make wooden blinds?

From order confirmation to installation usually takes 3–4 weeks: that is the time it takes to make the blinds to your measurements. The time for measuring is agreed with you.
