About 65 mm wooden blinds

65 mm wooden blinds have the widest slats, for the largest windows and formal interiors. They are made of basswood, with a warm, natural grain. The wide slats give the blind a broad, architectural look.

They are made 270–3063 mm wide and 300–4000 mm high. The maximum area with the maker's warranty is 5.5 m². Large windows can be automated with electric operation.

65 mm blinds suit lofts, industrial and minimalist interiors, hotels and restaurants. The wide slats cast broad bands of shadow and control the light across large areas.

How are they operated?

Operating configurations: controls on the left, controls on the right, tilt on the left + lift on the right, tilt on the right + lift on the left. With electric operation the blind is made without control cords.

Electric operation

Electric operation with Somfy or Brel motors, the same system as for the 50 mm blinds. It suits windows that are hard to reach (tall windows, roof windows) and smart-home set-ups.

How are they fitted, and with which brackets?

Fitting methods: a universal (face/top fix) bracket (12 mm or 19 mm projection; silver, white or black); a ceiling (top fix) bracket. Side fixing with a cable: free-hanging, flat or L-shaped. Bottom fixing: clear plastic.

Decorative tapes

38 series decorative tapes: 20+ colours and patterns (herringbone, wave). The tapes hide the cords. Note: incompatible colour combinations can stain the slats.

Important information about child safety

In some circumstances, infants and small children can become entangled in the control cords of window dressings, which creates a serious risk of strangulation. We recommend fixing the controls out of children's reach (no lower than 1500 mm from the floor) and using the cord safety device supplied with the blind. Check regularly that the cords are properly secured and do not form loops.

Which rooms suit 65 mm blinds?

  • Large panoramic windows
  • Executive offices
  • Hotels and restaurants
  • Modern living rooms with high ceilings

Questions

What are 65 mm wooden blinds for?

65 mm blinds are made for large windows, lofts, executive offices, hotels and restaurants. The widest slats give a broad, architectural look and control the light well across large areas.

How do 65 mm blinds differ from 50 mm blinds?

65 mm slats are 30% wider, so the look is bolder and more light comes through when the slats are open. But 50 mm offers a wider choice of materials (5 against 1) and a wider window (3630 mm against 3063 mm). 65 mm suits when looks and scale matter most.

How many cords or tapes will my blind have?

The number of cords or tapes depends on the width of the blind: up to 850 mm, 2; 850–1400 mm, 3; 1400–2350 mm, 4; 2350–2500 mm, 5; 2500–3000 mm, 6; from 3000 mm, 7. The number can be made to match neighbouring blinds (an additional service).
